On May 3rd, The Europa Institut at the University of Zurich (EIZ http://www.eiz.uzh.ch/en/ ) hosted a seminar dedicated exclusively to litigation funding. Marius Nasta and Michael Zuckerman spoke to a packed audience made of executives from Swiss companies, lawyers and academics. Other speakers included Alan Roberts, Director at Grant Thornton Channel Islands and Howard Smith, a highly experienced barrister from Radcliffe Chambers in London. The seminar was chaired by Nedim Peter Vogt, a Swiss academic and former senior partner of Bär & Karrer, the leading Swiss law firm. Topics included the latest trends in third party funding, the process involved in reviewing and funding legal claims, a client’s experience with funding and that of a lawyer involved in the running of a funded claim.
The session concluded with a lively questions and answers session during which the speakers’ panel took questions from the engaged audience. The panel included the aforementioned speakers as well as Marcell Wegmueller, Managing Partner of Nivalion AG, a Swiss based investor in legal claims.
